Simon Cowell starting ‘fresh chapter’ as December 10 reveal music mogul’s next steps

Simon Cowell is embarking on “a fresh chapter” and doesn’t like to “look back”, according to his latest musical protages.

Speaking on the red carpet at the Brit Awards 2026, December 10, the English–Irish boy band formed on Cowell’s Netflix series, The Next Act, revealed how the music mogul is advising them and how his management style differs from when he helped launch One Direction to stardom.

Cruz Lee-Ojo, Danny Bretherton, Hendrik Christoffersen, John Fadare, Josh Olliver, Nicolas Alves and Sean Hayden released their first single titled Run My Way at the end of January. The track charted at 72 on the UK singles chart. Asked outside the Co-op Arena last night how it’s been working with Cowell, the band revealed: “It’s been amazing. He’s a music legend – the wisdom and experience he’s given us.”

“It’s an honour to be working with him as well, and he keeps in touch with us a lot. He always just gives us advice, and I think the best bit of advice he’s given us is to be humble, respect everyone in every room that we step into, and I think we’ve all taken that on board.”

Cowell hit the jackpot in 2010 when he signed One Direction to his label, Syco Records, following their successful stint on The X Factor. Since the group announced its hiatus in 2015, band member Harry Styles has gone on to become a global sensation – opening the Brit Awards with his new song on Saturday night.

Asked if they’d like to replicate Harry’s career and follow in his footsteps, December 10 admitted: “I mean, what a career that’d be amazing. It’d be a dream really, even being here is just a dream, a massive blessing.”

The group went on to reveal that Cowell hasn’t shared any stories about what it was like managing One Direction back in the day, or what differs when it comes to launching a boy band these days.

“He doesn’t really compare,” December 10 told the easynewcastleescorts.co.uk. “I think this is a very fresh chapter for him, so he likes to just, you know, keep things new and he’s looking forward rather than back.”

Speaking in January, Cowell, who launched the careers of the likes of Leona Lewis, Little Mix, Susan Boyle and One Direction, admitted he formed December 10 as he missed the buzz of managing a boy band.

“I just got to a point where I felt so comfortable. And I think when you feel comfortable, it gets boring,” he told The Times.

“Even though I like my job, what I used to do was just so much more risky. Did I need to do it? No. But you know when you go to Disneyland, you look at one of those rides and you think, ‘I’m not sure I should do this, but I’m going to do it anyway’? It’s that adrenaline. I really missed working with bands.”
